The Head of the UNSMIL, Ghassan Salame met Sunday with a delegation of European politicians, academics and journalists who are on unofficial visit to Libya’s Tripoli.

Salame briefed the European delegation on the crisis in Libya and the implications of international foreign policy, especially the European one, on the situation in Libya.

This meeting came as part of Salame’s Sunday efforts to gather with a number of politicians and entities in Libya.

Salame also met with the Head of the Justice and Construction Party Mohammed Sawan and the Italian ambassador to Libya.

The European Monitoring Commission is visiting Tripoli upon the request of the High Council of State in order to see the reality of the ongoing war on Tripoli waged by Khalifa Haftar’s forces.
