An Austrian and a Serbian national held in Libya since March have been freed and are currently in Malta.

In a press release issued by the Maltese government, it said that their freedom was secured through the joint work of the authorities and security services of Malta, Libya, Austria and Serbia.

Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat informed the Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann and the Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vučić about the recent developments.

The situation was discussed between Prime Minister Muscat and Prime Minister Vučić during the last Saturday’s meeting in Belgrade.
