A Libyan boy named Abdelraoef Al-Ojali was kidnapped from Hay Al-Salam neighbourhood in Benghazi by unknown persons on Friday.

The father of the boy told the press that the kidnappers called and asked for 2 million Libyan dinars (LYD) in order to return the nine year old kid to him and his family.

Benghazi has been plagued with an ongoing war since 2014, which has been also mixed with abductions and calls for ransoms by gangs and armed militias.

No official details were given about whether the police in the eastern city had started investigations into the abduction or not.
