The meeting reviewed progress on the electricity and energy issues, as well as the Covid-19 vaccinations, health measures, and a number of service files.

According to the Presidential Council’s Information Office, the Council meeting also addressed the follow-up of a number of files relevant to Libyan foreign policy.

In a similar development, the Prime Minister of the GNU convened an emergency meeting with the board members of the State’s General Electricity Company (GECOL), in which he sternly instructed the board members to end the crisis at any cost.

In recent weeks, the issue of ongoing power outages across the country has exploded, lasting as long as twenty-four hours in certain locations, making life unpleasant for Libyans across the country in the sweltering summer heat that has topped 48 degrees Celsius.
