Libya and Serbia discuss stronger cooperation

Libya’s acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, held talks with Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, focusing on the latest political developments in Libya and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official Facebook page on Thursday, the meeting addressed the evolving political situation in Libya and the ongoing efforts aimed at promoting security, stability and sustainable development. The two officials also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The talks took place during Al-Baour’s official visit to Serbia, where he conveyed the appreciation of Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Al-Dbeibah for the longstanding relations between Libya and Serbia.
During the meeting, Al-Baour also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Macut to visit Libya, reflecting Tripoli’s interest in strengthening diplomatic engagement and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Discussions further explored opportunities to deepen collaboration across several sectors, particularly healthcare and education. Both sides also reviewed potential investment prospects in Libya and Serbia, with a particular focus on energy, telecommunications and information technology.
