More than 6,600 injured in Israel since late February escalation

Israel’s Ministry of Health has said that 118 people were admitted to hospitals on Tuesday, as hostilities linked to the ongoing confrontation with Iran continue to drive casualty figures higher.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed that a total of 6,638 injuries have been recorded in Israeli hospitals since the launch of the military operation referred to as “Rising Lion” on 28 February, which coincided with a broader escalation involving the United States and Israel targeting Iran. The figures cover the period up to midnight on 31 March.

The ministry added that the cumulative number of injuries treated in Israeli hospitals since 7 October 2023 has reached 82,956.

The rise in hospital admissions comes amid continued Iranian strikes on Israeli-controlled areas, described by Tehran as part of its retaliatory campaign following the attacks against it. The escalation has unfolded alongside ongoing cross-border exchanges involving armed groups in Lebanon, which have intensified their response to Israeli military actions in the country since early March.
