AGOCO explores cooperation opportunities with Chevron

Libya’s Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) hosted a delegation from Chevron for technical discussions focused on oilfield development, production efficiency and the application of advanced technologies across the company’s operations.
The meeting, held at AGOCO’s headquarters in Benghazi, brought together members of the company’s management committee, senior technical officials and specialists from Chevron, one of the world’s largest energy companies.
According to AGOCO, the talks examined potential areas of cooperation, including opportunities to enhance the performance of the company’s oilfields and support future development projects.
Participants reviewed technologies used in exploration, production and reservoir management, as well as maintenance programmes and operational improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and optimising resource recovery.
The discussions also included an exchange of technical expertise and industry best practices, with both sides exploring ways to leverage modern technologies to improve production performance and strengthen operational capabilities.
The meeting forms part of AGOCO’s broader efforts to expand cooperation with international energy companies as Libya seeks to modernise oilfield infrastructure and sustain production growth. The initiative also aligns with the National Oil Corporation’s strategy to improve efficiency, support long-term sector development and maximise the value of the country’s hydrocarbon resources.
