Presidential Council approves new name for Buzriba-led security body
The agency, headed by Hassan Buzriba, will operate as the Security Support and Operations Agency, retaining its existing powers, assets and legal status

Libya’s Presidential Council has renamed the Stability Support Apparatus as the Security Support and Operations Agency, leaving its mandate, legal status and financial standing unchanged.
Under Decision No. 13 of 2026, the agency, headed by Hassan Buzriba, retains all its existing rights and obligations. Its new name must be used in official correspondence and documents.
The decision also preserves the existing legal arrangements governing the agency’s funds, premises, vehicles, equipment and other assets. The change does not entail any transfer or relinquishment of ownership, or alter the legal arrangements under which those assets are held.
The relevant authorities have been instructed to update official records, seals and documentation and carry out the administrative, financial and organisational procedures required to implement the decision.
The decree takes effect from the date of its issue.
