Beijing slams Trump’s Gaza exodus plan

International debate intensified on Wednesday over proposed Gaza plans, with China joining other nations in expressing strong opposition to any forced relocation of Palestinian residents.
“Gaza belongs to the Palestinians and is an integral part of the Palestinian territory… We oppose the forced displacement of the people of Gaza”, stated Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun during a regular press briefing.
The controversy arose after US President Donald Trump proposed American administration of the Gaza Strip, suggesting the relocation of Palestinian residents to neighbouring countries, particularly Egypt and Jordan. His vision included rebuilding the war-torn region into what he described as the “Riviera of the Middle East”.
The proposal drew swift criticism from the international community, particularly Arab nations, who reaffirmed their commitment to a two-state solution that would establish an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati actively engages with his counterparts in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, working to solidify regional opposition to any forced relocation of Palestinians from their homeland.
