A number of residents in the Tunisian district of Ben Gardane near the Libyan border Ras Ajdair have blocked the road that connects their district with the Libyan border.

Eyewitnesses said the residents set fire to tyres and then started tossing stones at the Libyan cars, including ambulances and trucks, to force them back to Ras Ajdair border crossing point.

The protesting locals said their actions are to react to the bad treatment, kidnapping, and arrest the Tunisian tradesmen are undergoing by a groups positioned at the Libyan side of the border.

Ras Ajdair border between Libya and Tunisia is a very vital crossing for trade and other purposes like medical treatment transfer for Libyans, and such an act would really be devastating for some people who rely on Tunisia for treatment and other things.
