Eight Israeli military personnel sustained injuries in a shooting incident near Tayasir, east of Jenin, on Tuesday morning, according to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s emergency service.

Two soldiers are in critical condition, MDA reported. Medical teams responded to the scene, with helicopters deployed to transport the wounded to hospitals.

According to The Jerusalem Post, the assailant was killed by Israeli forces after opening fire on the group.

Separately, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Tuesday that Israel will dispatch negotiators to Qatar by the weekend to discuss the second phase of Gaza ceasefire negotiations.

This development follows Netanyahu’s meeting with U.S. Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff in Washington.
