France to provide Libya with 6 boats to support anti-illegal migration efforts

France is going to provide six boats to Libya to support the fight against illegal migration, according to the French Ministry of Defense.

The ministry confirmed last Thursday the details that were revealed by Le Monde, after a recent meeting between the French Minister of Armed Force Florence Parly and the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj.

According to the report, there are six boats will be bought by French authorities from the local manufacturer Sillinger, and then will be delivered to Libya country in spring.

“The aim is to support Libyans in the fight against illegal migration networks and human traffickers.” The report adds.
