Gaddafi-era intelligence chief’s trial adjourned to January 2025
The trial of former intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi has been postponed to 12 January 2025, according to his lawyer Ahmed Nashad.
Sunday’s hearing was delayed due to communication issues between the court and Mitiga prison, where al-Senussi is held. Defence lawyers also requested additional time to review and prepare their cases.
Mustafa Al-Majdoub, legal advisor to the Abu Salim Massacre Victims Association, confirmed the adjournment. He noted that the court renewed arrest warrants for 79 individuals and maintained detention orders for four others connected to the Abu Salim case.
Al-Senussi, who appeared via video link in early November after missing several sessions this year, served as intelligence chief during the Gaddafi regime.
