Germany beats Chile to win 2017 Confederations Cup

Germany held on to beat Chile 1-0 in the Confederations Cup final in Saint Petersburg on Sunday thanks to a first-half goal from Lars Stindl.
Chile was on the front foot from the off, with Charles Aranguiz denied by Antonio Rudiger after breaking in on goal and Arturo Vidal firing just wide from distance in the opening 10 minutes.
And Germany would see out the match to give the defending World Cup champions another trophy ahead of next year’s main event in Russia.
