HoR Speaker’s Consultant: A meeting outside Tobruk is highly unlikely
The media consultants of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives’ Speaker, Aqilah Saleh, Fathi Al-Maryami said it is unlikely that there would be a meeting in Ghadames because the pro-GNA members are on the decrees and some of them have announced their withdrawal, such Ibrahim AL-Dersi.
Al-Maryami told Press Solidarity that such a session will be illegal if it convenes, saying that no meeting can be held outside Tobruk without voting on it, stressing that all must commit to the laws and hold the session inside the HoR’s headquarters in Tobruk to solve problem peacefully.
He added that the HoR conditioned approving the GNA to the cancellation of article (8) from the political agreement, saying that the dialogue committee was ill-picked from the start.
“The Presidential Council doesn’t have the right to call itself the Chief Commander of the Libyan Army, the Speaker of the HoR is the Commander in Chief and he is still so.” Al-Maryami concluded.
