IS militant blows himself up in Derna as IS sleeper cell arrested

Derna Shura Council in eastern Libya has announced arresting an IS sleeper cell in the city on Sunday.

The Derna Shura Council also reported that one of the IS terrorists exploded himself while the attack on the terrorist was taking place in one of the downtown neighbourhoods.

“The IS militant was wearing an explosive belt. He blew himself up once the council fighters attacked the sleeper cell on Sunday dawn.” Libyan local media reported.

Derna triumphed over IS over two years ago when the Derna Shura Council fighters managed to defeat IS groups and expel those who were not killed out of the city.
