Italian Navy intercepted “Anwar Libya” oil tanker

A military unit affiliated with Italian navy intercepted a Libyan oil tanker in the international water on Sunday.

A well-informed Libyan source said that a helicopter deployed small group of Italian soldiers.

“They were searching all over the tanker. They allowed us to sail after two hours of inspection.”

“This military unit was seeking to gather information on tankers and boats which may be suspected of involving in gas smuggling,” he added.
