Libya approves $2.3 Billion in family support grants

The Libyan Audit Bureau has authorised the distribution of family support grants for the fourth quarter of 2024 after completing a thorough review of Ministry of Social Affairs data.
In official correspondence to the Ministry’s Wife and Children’s Grant Department, the Bureau verified disbursements totalling $2.3 billion (1.15 billion Libyan dinars) for the quarter.
The comprehensive review examined beneficiary identification data, including national ID numbers, registration details, and dates of birth. The disbursement analysis shows that 25,774 individuals will receive single-month payments totalling $5.2 million (2.57 million dinars), whilst 25,374 recipients have qualified for two-month disbursements amounting to $10.3 million (5.07 million dinars). The largest group, comprising 3.82 million beneficiaries, will receive three-month payments totalling $2.29 billion (1.14 billion dinars).
The Bureau confirmed all recipient information matches Civil Status Authority records, ensuring no duplicate payments in the system.
Before proceeding with the disbursements, the oversight body requires verification of beneficiaries’ bank account information against official family records. Any accounts with incomplete or mismatched information will be excluded from payment processing.
