Libya’s election body partners with USAID to boost polls
Libya’s electoral body chief Emad Al-Sayeh convened with Democracy International’s Libya director on Wednesday to explore collaborative approaches for strengthening the country’s electoral framework.
This inaugural meeting between the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) and DI centred on identifying potential partnership opportunities to advance democratic practices in Libya.
According to HNEC’s media office, Democracy International specialises in fostering democratic development and institutional capacity worldwide.
The organisation is currently spearheading the “Communication with Voters for Fair Representation” initiative in Libya, backed by USAID funding.
The initiative seeks to bolster HNEC’s technical capabilities and institutional expertise to ensure the delivery of transparent, inclusive elections that accurately represent the will of all Libyans.
Through this partnership, both organisations aim to enhance the integrity and effectiveness of Libya’s electoral processes.
