Libya’s HoR reviews election criteria with HNEC
The committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) that is tasked to follow up with the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) on the development of the electoral process and is headed by Al-Hadi Al-Saghir, and MP Saleh Efhema, met Saturday with the Head of HNEC, Emad Al-Sayeh.
The meeting in Tripoli focused on the latest developments of the presidential electoral process as well as the hindrances facing it, in addition to the appeals and revision of the appeals, not to mention the need for transparency in committing to the election law.
Following the meeting, Efhema said the meeting with Al-Sayeh shed light on the fact that there’s something wrong in implementing the election law by other parties intentionally or unintentionally, adding that the HNEC is doing its tasks as per the legislation despite all hindrances that are a mixture of legal and political challenges.
“The HNEC asked the HoR for some measures that will be announced soon. It also provided the necessary documents for its request, which will be presented at the HoR to have the final say, whether to take the measures or do without them.” He added.
