Misurata heart centre transitions to Qatari management

The Government of National Unity completed the formal handover of Misurata Heart, Arteries and Vascular Centre to Qatari healthcare provider Elegancia on Friday. Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dabaiba presided over the ceremony.
Elegancia will assume operational management and staff training responsibilities for a 15-year period, as stipulated in the government-approved agreement. The arrangement establishes joint operations between local administration and the Qatari company.
The partnership aims to enhance medical services and strengthen staff capabilities at the specialised cardiac facility. Local administrators will continue to work alongside Elegancia’s management team to ensure service continuity.
This development is part of Libya’s broader healthcare expansion, with several medical facilities set to open across the country this February. The Misurata centre will maintain its role as a key cardiovascular care provider while implementing new management systems.
Under the agreement, existing medical personnel will receive additional training whilst continuing their duties at the facility. The transition marks a significant step in Libya’s efforts to modernise its healthcare infrastructure through international collaboration.
