Stephanie meets with two woman presidential candidates
The UN Secretary General’s Advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said on Twitter she had substantive and stimulating conversation with the two woman candidates for presidential elections, Laila Ben Khalifa and Hunaida Al-Madi Tumia.
Williams added on Monday that she also discussed with the two woman candidates their visions for Libya, including a strong push to advance the electoral process.
She also met on Sunday with the Speaker-designate of the House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, and the Head of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh, and the Minister of Interior Khalid Mazen.
Williams said the meeting came as part of the wide range consultations she was conducting in various cities with Libyan institutions, political and security actors, in support of a free, fair and credible electoral process.
