Tripoli Municipality wants capital void of armed groups
The Municipality of Tripoli has issued a statement earlier Saturday calling on all authorities to end all the armed formations and appearances in the capital, and hand the security tasks for the legal authorities to prevail peace and safety in Tripoli.
On Facebook, the Municipality condemned the clashes that broke out Saturday morning in downtown Tripoli calling them irresponsible acts and a dangerous risk at the expense of the residents’ lives.
“There is a lot of material damage done due to the clashes and also some injuries among the two clashing armed groups, without any reported deaths.” The Municipality added.
Earlier on Saturday, Tripoli saw continuous clashes that took place in many streets over the capturing of a wanted convict of the murder of one of the Sixth Brigade fighters.
