Tunisian Police Seize 90kg of Cannabis in Major Drug Bust
Anti-narcotics police in Tunisia have dismantled a major drug trafficking operation in the capital’s Ettadhamen district, seizing 90 kilograms of cannabis and an undisclosed sum of cash.
The operation, led by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Drugs, culminated in raids following weeks of surveillance. Acting on intelligence about suspected drug trafficking activities, investigators monitored a primary suspect known to authorities in the Ettadhamen area.
Police arrested two individuals during the operation, including the main suspect. Additional suspects have been identified and are currently being sought by authorities, according to officials at the Court of First Instance in Ariana, which authorised the raids.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not released the identities of the suspects or specified the amount of money seized pending further legal proceedings.
