UK vows to continue efforts for Libya’s December elections
Delegates fail to agree on legal basis for Libya elections
Chairman of Libya’s High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Din Al-Sayeh met on Monday, with the UK Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Harndell and her accompanying delegation.
The ambassador’s visit to the commission’s headquarters comes within the framework of the international community’s support for the Libyan elections on next December, they reviewed developments in the electoral process, preparations for the upcoming stages, and the general agenda of the HNEC.
Hurndall praised the efforts and preparations made by the HNEC in the implementation stages of the electoral process, to reach the highest internationally applicable standards.
