Libya shuts down embassy in Chad over expulsion of its diplomats
Libya’s embassy in Chad closed its doors until a further notice after the Foreign Ministry of Chad demanded the deportation of twelve of Libyan diplomats from the embassy and the consulate in the capital N’Djamena.
The Chadian Foreign Ministry sent a letter to the Libyan government saying that 12 Libyan diplomats must leave in 48 hours as they are considered persona non grata in Chad, adding that there is an exaggerated number of administrative and military diplomats working in the Libyan embassy.
However, the Libyan side answered back by informing Chadian authorities that Libya had decided to shut its embassy and consulate until a further notice.
