The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has conducted at least 17 strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon’s capital. Al Jazeera reported that the areas were targeted by fighter jets and drones.

According to Lebanon’s LBCI broadcaster, the strikes included six direct hits and ten warning strikes, with one projectile failing to detonate.

Earlier, the IDF stated its strikes targeted sites of the Hezbollah Aerial Unit (127) in Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut. The Israeli army had previously issued a warning to residents of this neighborhood, instructing them to leave their homes immediately.

This marks the first time Israel has targeted the Lebanese capital since late April, having previously limited its military operations to the southern regions of the country.
