The Travel Index for 2019 published by International SOS has ranked Libya among the countries where travelers have to be extremely cautious while attempting to visit.

Libya was ranked an Extremely Risky Country on Thursday-issued Index, along with other countries like Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan and other conflict-ridden countries.

The Index says that “Extreme Risk of Travel” category is one where government control and law and order may be minimal or non-existent across large areas in the listed countries.

“Serious threat of violent attacks by armed groups targeting travellers and international assignees are also existent in such countries.” The Index says.

It explains that the category countries’ government and transport services are barely functional, adding that large parts of the country are inaccessible to foreigners.
