Iran lifts flight restrictions
Iran resumes flights after brief suspension due to 'operational restrictions'
Iranian state media reported that flight restrictions imposed on Sunday evening have been lifted as of early Monday morning, six hours ahead of schedule.
The Civil Aviation Organisation (CAO) cited the restoration of “favorable and safe flight conditions” as the reason for the early resumption of air traffic.
The CAO had previously announced the cancellation of all flights from 9 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday local time, citing “operational restrictions” without elaborating. This followed a wave of missile attacks launched by Iran against Israel on Tuesday, prompting retaliatory threats from Israel.
The brief suspension of flights fueled speculation about potential security concerns and disruptions to air travel in the region. However, the CAO’s announcement this morning indicates a quicker-than-expected return to normal operations.
