Libya’s parliament holds session in Tripoli and elects Interim Speaker for 45 days

The Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) has held a second session in Tripoli in order to vote for the election of an Interim Speaker. 

The session on Sunday was attended by 42 members and saw the election of Sadiq Al-Kehili as the Interim Speaker, Musaab Abid as the rapporteur and Hamouda Sayala as the media spokesman for the HoR.

The spokesman said after the end of the session that the mandate of the newly elected officials will be for 45 days, adding that the HoR will continue to convene in Tripoli with more members expected to join.
