Minister of Youth: Everyone who attended the Youth Day ceremony was subject to Covid testing

After public backlash to the large gathering, the Ministry of Youth confirms that all in attendance were subject to covid-19 testing

Fethullah Al – Zani, Minister of Youth in the Government of National Unity, stated that everyone who attended the World Youth Day event in Khums City was subjected to Covid-19 testing.

According to the Libyan news agency (LANA), the Minister stated that individuals who tested positive were barred from joining the big festivities.

He stated that two positive instances were barred from attending the Tripoli rally and two cases were barred from attending the Misrata gathering.

The comments made by Youth Minister Fethullah Al-Zani come on the heels of the Prime Minister‘s attendance at a big youth day gathering when the rest of the country was subject to a nationwide curfew to prevent the spread of the virus.
