Tripoli mayor abducted overnight, municipality suspends work in protest

The mayor of Tripoli central municipality was kidnapped on Wednesday and had been led to an unknown place, according to sources from the municipality.
Meanwhile, the Tripoli municipality suspended work on Thursday in protest of the abduction of the mayor, Abdelraouf Bayt Al-Mal.
The municipality called on the Presidential Council to take the needed measures to make sure the mayor is released safe and sound.
“Such acts are crimes that directly threaten the security of the capital in Libya and drags it into a conflict that could be easily avoided.” The municipality’s statement reads.
