LNCHR says exhuming and mutilating Jalal Al-Makhzoum’s body by Operation Dignity forces a war crime
The Libyan National Commission for Human Rights (LNCHR) has condemned in the strongest terms the exhuming of the body of the Benghazi Mujahideen Shura Council’s senior leader, Jalal Al-Makhzoum, and then disfiguring his body and taking selfies with his body parts.
“This act is far from being a little human. It is a war crime that should be punished.” The LNCHR expressed.
Jalal Al-Makhzoum was killed last week in clashes in Ganfudah area in Benghazi with the forces of Operation Dignity led by Khalifa Haftar.
The LNCHR also said that the mutilation of Al-Makhzoum’s body is a war crime that is a violation of the war rules and laws that are guaranteed by the International Humanitarian Law.
“We call on the Benghazi authorities to open an investigation int the issue and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice fast.
