Al-Suwaihli condemns disorder during Al-Ittihad match

Suwaihli SC has condemned the incidents that disrupted its Libyan Premier League match against Al-Ittihad at Tarhuna Stadium, calling for an urgent and comprehensive investigation.
In a statement seen by Libyan Express, the club said the match had been proceeding normally, with what it described as a clear advantage for Al-Suwaihli on the pitch, before the closing stages were affected by protests and interventions it said were unacceptable.
The club said the situation later escalated when supporters entered the field of play, with assaults reported against the match officials, Al-Suwaihli players and security personnel.
Al-Suwaihli described the scenes as dangerous and said they raised serious questions about how the situation inside the stadium was allowed to descend into disorder.
The club called on the security authorities and the Libyan Football Federation to open an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the match and to take firm measures to protect players, officials and the integrity of the competition.
Al-Suwaihli also said it would not remain silent over any attempt to target its delegation, players, technical and administrative staff or supporters, stressing that it would use all legal means available to defend its rights.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to sportsmanship and fair competition, while rejecting any attempt to turn football grounds into arenas of violence, intimidation or disorder.
