Yura Corporation, a South Korean company that specialises in the design, development, and manufacturing of automotive electrical and electronic components, intends to expand its Tunisian operations by adding 6,000 employees to its workforce by 2026.
The company, which established its Tunisian branch in 2007, currently employs over 2,000 people at its facility in the Kairouan 2 industrial zone.
This expansion, announced by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, will involve increasing production capacity across Yura’s three existing units.
The company aims to contribute to the growth of Tunisia’s automotive components industry, a strategically important sector for the national economy.
With a global presence including seven branches in South Korea and facilities in various countries such as China, Vietnam, Slovakia, Serbia, and Russia, Yura is a leading supplier to major automotive manufacturers, including Hyundai and Kia Motors.
Tunisia’s automotive components sector comprises more than 280 companies, employing over 95,000 people.
The sector generates a turnover exceeding €4.2 billion, accounting for more than 16 percent of Tunisia’s total exports.
